Former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor was busted for driving under the influence in Florida over the weekend.

According to a report by WPTV, the 57-year-old Hall of Famer had sideswiped a patrol car and a motor home as he tried to switch lanes while driving his Bentley in Palm Beach Gardens at around 5:30 p.m.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported and only the patrol car’s side mirror was damaged. Taylor was reportedly taken to the Palm Beach County Jail.

It definitely isn’t Taylor’s first run-in with the law. Aside from admitting to using cocaine during his NFL career, he pleaded guilty to patronizing a prostitute and having sex with a minor in 2010. He was also arrested twice for attempting to buy crack.

Joey Bosa Signs “Guaranteed” $26 Million 4-Year Contract With SD Chargers

Former rookie defensive end Joey Bosa has finally signed his contract with the San Diego Chargers after being picked third during the overall draft pick, NFL’s Ian Rapoport confirms on Twitter.

According to the contract, the Ohio State-born 21-year-old will be playing with the team for 4 years and will be raking in a total of $25.8 million–plus a $17 signing bonus–“all guaranteed.”

We look forward to having Joey join us and getting him prepared as quickly as possible for the 2016 season,” said General Manager Tom Telesco in an announcement on the team’s official website.

Bosa, who towers at 6’5 and weighs 280 lbs., spent three seasons with the Buckeyes and boasts of a record of 150 tackles, 50.5 tackles for loss, 26 sacks, 24 quarterback hurries and five forced fumbles in 41 games.  He was also a two-time Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year and two-time first-team All-America selection over his college career.

Johnny Manziel Reportedly Goes Missing After Skipping Memorial Day Party

Johnny Manziel Reportedly Goes Missing After Skipping Memorial Day Party

johnny manziel screenshot

On Saturday, Johnny Manziel was expected to take a helicopter to the Hamptons, where he was expected to host a small Memorial Day weekend party for his friends and family. Except, he never made it.

The report by the New York Post’s Page Six adds that some of the quarterback’s family members tried to reach him and then decided to leave without him when he didn’t answer.

The previous night, he was involved in a confrontation with Precision Concierge’s Wayne Schneider outside the Trump Soho in lower Manhattan. That was the last time that he was seen.

Perhaps he was trying to stay out of the spotlight after everything that people have been saying about him and his “horrible downward spiral” after all the drinking and drug use? As for what could be keeping him away from his own family, you may remember that his own father recently (and publicly) expressed his concern over his son’s life. We honestly can’t blame Manziel for wanting to get away from it all, even for just a while.

Suspended Josh Gordon Reportedly Fails Another Drug Test

Suspended Josh Gordon Reportedly Fails Another Drug Test

josh gordon on instagram

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has not yet been reinstated to the NFL after 80 days, and now we might know why.

The NFL star, who has been suspended four times since 2011 for his repeated violations of the NFL’s policy on substance abuse, reportedly failed another league-administered drug test last month. According to the report by Fox Sports, both of his urine samples were diluted and tested positive for marijuana. The marijuana sample was less than the 35 nanograms per milliliter required for a positive test, but is nonetheless considered positive.

While this doesn’t mean Gordon will be missing yet another season, it obviously doesn’t help his reinstatement chances and could make NFL commissioner Roger Goodell reluctant to reinstate Gordon.

And in case you were wondering what Gordon’s tweets were, yes, it seems he was talking about this news. On Monday, he sent cryptic tweets:

NFL’s Jaelen Strong Gets Arrested And Jailed For Weed

NFL’s Jaelen Strong Gets Arrested And Jailed For Weed

jaelen strong mug shot

Houston Texans wide receiver Jaelen Strong got busted over the weekend for admittedly smoking weed without a medical card.

The American footballer was driving around in Scottsdale, Arizona–with Green Bay Packers cornerback Damarious Randall–when he was stopped by cops for not having visible license plates. Cops say the car smelled strongly of weed, and Strong eventually admitted to smoking pot. Not only that, he even handed a cigar box with 3 joints inside to the authorities.

He was arrested and booked at the nearby jail just moments later. As for Randall, he was a lot luckier after being released at the scene.

No word yet from Jaelen’s coach or teammates.

Carolina Panthers Fan Falls From The Stands Trying To High Five Luke Kuechly (Video)

Carolina Panthers Fan Falls From The Stands Trying To High Five Luke Kuechly (Video)

kuechly celebrating before fan falls

It seems the Panthers’ huge fan base got a huge dose of adrenaline rush after the team’s exciting fourth quarter beatdown of the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday night’s NFC Championship game.

Following a 34-point lead over the Cardinals, Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly couldn’t help but celebrate with fans in the end zone. And during one fan’s attempt to give Kuechly a high five, the fan fell from the stands. Kuechly, of course, took a break from his small celebration to help the fan up.

In two weeks, the Panthers will be facing the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl 50. Until then, we’ll have to see if there will be more fans to contribute to making the NFL more and more exciting.

Goodell Upholds Tom Brady’s Suspension, Brady Makes A Statement

Goodell Upholds Tom Brady’s Suspension, Brady Makes A Statement

nfl logo

Last Tuesday, the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell upheld Tom Brady’s four-game suspension with regards to the Deflategate controversy in the AFC Finals game between the New England Patriots against the Detroit Lions.

With the disappointment from the Patriots’ owner Robert Kraft, down to the fans, Tom Brady breaks his silence after months of cooperation with the investigation. Tom Brady made a statement expressing his thoughts on the matter.

Brady said he was very disappointed with how everything was handled, since there was no solid evidence of anyone’s involvement with the “alleged” deflation of balls, and that Goodell disregarded all evidences presented to him and stuck with Wells’ inconclusive report.

He also mentioned that the whole charade about changing his phone was not even a big issue since they reached out to the telecom providers to get transcripts of his messages and phone calls made that they forwarded to Wells. According to him, the whole thing was done in cooperation with the investigating body and that none of the materials were ever made public on the Wells’ report instead, they were taken from other people not within the organization.

Brady ended his statement by thanking the Patriots’ organization for supporting him and especially the fans that have believed and supported them even in this time, he said that he is looking forward to playing and winning more games with the Patriots.

Tom Brady’s suspension comes in full effect at the start of the regular season and will miss an NFC Division game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Tom Brady Suspended, Patriots Fined After Wells Report

Tom Brady Suspended, Patriots Fined After Wells Report

Four game suspensions, a million dollar fine and pulled draft picks; Tom Brady and the New England Patriots face a challenging 2015. After the Wells report came out, the NFL has suspended Patriots’ Quarterback and 2014-2015 NFL MVP, Tom Brady for his “probable” involvement in the deflation of footballs at the AFC Championship against the Indiana Colts. Aside from the 4 game suspension, the New England Patriots are fined one million dollars and have been stripped off their 1st round draft pick for 2016, and 4th round draft pick for 2017.

Tom Brady is set to miss the kick off on September 10, replacing him will be Jimmy Garropolo. Brady’s camp has stated their disapprovement of the NFL’s decision. Don Yee, Brady’s agent said, “the discipline is ridiculous and has no legitimate basis”. Brady’s camp will have 3 days to make an appeal. Yee has also mentioned, “And if the hearing officer is completely independent and neutral, I am very confident the Wells Report will be exposed as an incredibly frail exercise in fact-finding and logic”. A lot of parties have read and reviewed the Wells Report and has been convinced that there is no solid evidence that can point out that Tom Brady has orchestrated the tampering of the footballs.

The New England Patriots have shared their statement regarding the matter, “Despite our conviction that there was no tampering with footballs, it was our intention to accept any discipline levied by the league,” and has continued on saying, “Today’s punishment, however, far exceeded any reasonable expectation. It was based completely on circumstantial rather than hard or conclusive evidence. Tom Brady has our unconditional support. Our belief in him has not wavered.”

To show support for their beloved quarterback, the Patriots’ social media avatar have been changed to a photo of Tom Brady. The photo shows Tom Brady in his playing jersey.

NFL’s Marshawn Lynch Repeatedly Answers “Thanks For Asking” In Another Awkward Interview

NFL’s Marshawn Lynch Repeatedly Answers “Thanks For Asking” In Another Awkward Interview

Marshawn Lynch interview with Seattle Times

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has done it again!

The same Marshawn who was fined $100K for refusing to talk to reporters after a game in November and then answering “yeah” to every question the next week, resorted to giving another one of the weirdest interviews after a game against the Arizona Cardinals this past Sunday night.

This time, he answered, “Thanks for asking.”

Seriously. To every question.

According to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, here’s how it went down:

On his big run for the touchdown: “Thank you.”

On how his stomach is feeling: “Thank you for asking.”

On if he is feeling better: “Thanks for asking.”

On what he saw on the long touchdown run: “Thanks for asking.”

On his touchdown run: “Thanks for asking. (Reporter: ‘What’s that?’) I said, ‘thanks for asking.’ (Reporter: ‘Can you talk about the run?’) I know. I said, ‘thank you for asking.’ I appreciate it.”

On if he can describe the 79-yard touchdown run: “Thanks for asking.”

On his stomach issues early in the game: “I appreciate you asking about my stomach. Thank you.”

On if there was any concern if he was going to play at all tonight:“Thanks for asking. I appreciate it.”

We’re surprised it even lasted that long. Maybe the reporter didn’t realize the trend, or was hoping Lynch would crack after a few more questions?

Clearly, he was wrong.

Ethan Westbrooks Reveals He Got Face Tattoo For Motivation To Get Into NFL

Ethan Westbrooks Reveals He Got Face Tattoo For Motivation To Get Into NFL

Untitled-1

Michael Sam is not the only NFL player who made intriguing news this past week!

A fellow St. Louis Rams teammate is making news not because he beat Sam for one of the team’s final spots in the 53-man lineup, but also because of his remarkable life story before joining the football team. Apparently, he used to work for Toys “R” Us and play for Sacramento City College. He didn’t last at the toy store, however. The athlete was so sure about wanting to become different (like being part of the NFL, perhaps?) that he got himself a pretty outrageous motivational tool.

The man is rookie defense lineman Ethan Westbrooks, and he tells ESPN that he got a tattoo on his face underneath his left eye that reads, “Laugh now, cry later.” Three years later, he considers it a reason for his success.

He explains to ESPN: “I was just like I might as well go ahead and get it on the face because if nothing else, it will help motivate me to either be a guy that has a tattoo on his face looking for another job or hopefully I make it in the NFL and don’t have to work too hard to do something (else). I don’t feel it’s a bad thing now. I don’t regret it. It speaks for itself.”

Right before The Rams signed him as an undrafted free agent in May, he transferred to West Texas A&M. His emergence and undeniably incredible performance in the training camp were definitely major reasons for him finally being an official part of the team.

ESPN Apologizes To Michael Sam For Report About His Showering Habits

ESPN Apologizes To Michael Sam For Report About His Showering Habits

espn

American footballer Michael Sam finally got the apology he deserved after ESPN went under fire for seemingly revealing shocking—although intriguing—locker room secrets.

The network’s Josina Anderson went on air on Tuesday and reported on her discussions with several of Sam’s St. Louis Rams teammates about Sam’s showering habits.

Anderson said, “Another Rams defensive player told me that ‘Sam is respecting our space’ and that, from his perspective, he seems to think that Michael Sam is kind of waiting to take a shower, as not to make his teammates feel uncomfortable.”

Rams star Chris Long and a few other people went after ESPN, and now the network has issued an apology, saying, “ESPN regrets the manner in which we presented our report. Clearly yesterday we collectively failed to meet the standards we have set in reporting on LGBT-related topics in sports.”

But the damage has been done, it seems. Since the report, shows like “The Daily Show” has been mocking and creating parodies of Sam’s alleged showering behavior.

Sam has not yet commented on the situation.
