Cris “Cyborg” Justino Calls Ronda Rousey “Weak” For Having Suicidal Thoughts

Cris “Cyborg” Justino Calls Ronda Rousey “Weak” For Having Suicidal Thoughts

Ronda Rousey is still getting mixed reactions from her shocking revelation that she had suicidal thoughts after her sad UFC fight with Holly Holm.

We already heard that Holm thinks Rousey will be “stronger mentally” from it, and now it seems Cris “Cyborg” Justino has pretty much the same opinion… Only, she stated it in a rather insulting way.

In a recent interview, the Curitiba-native said fighting Rousey was “something that should happen.”

“At first I thought this fight would never happen because the UFC was protecting her, but the reality is, after Holly Holm beat her up, she ran away from the rematch, saying she wants to have kids and all that.”

“That confirmed to me what I already knew: she’s a coward with a weak mind that never learned after all these years… In her book, she talks about her being depressed after her Olympic loss, she continues as mature as a 5-year-old, she hasn’t learned the philosophy of the sport.”

Cyborg also told TMZ, “When you fight, you can lose, you can win. It’s a sport. You cannot think you want suicide because you lose one fight. Some people handle it better than others.”

Do you agree with Cyborg?

Holly Holm On Ronda Rousey’s Suicidal Thoughts Post-Fight: “She’ll Be Stronger Mentally From It”

Holly Holm On Ronda Rousey’s Suicidal Thoughts Post-Fight: “She’ll Be Stronger Mentally From It”

You may remember that before 2015 ended, UFC ultimate fighter Ronda Rousey shocked everyone when she was defeated by Holly Holms.

This year, we were even more shocked after hearing from Rousey herself how she actually reacted to her devastating loss. In an emotional interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the fighter said, “Honestly … I was sitting in the corner and was like, ‘What am I anymore if I’m not this?’ I was literally sitting there thinking about killing myself.”

Rousey’s father did also commit suicide when she was 8, making it an existential crisis. It was her devotion to her boyfriend, UFC fighter Travis Browne, that saved her.

“I looked up at him and I was just like, ‘I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive.'”

Now, 34-year-old Holly Holm is responding to the suicidal comments made by Rousey. She admitted, “There’s a lot of things around that. When I heard that she said that, for me it’s one of those things it’s like, ‘How do I respond to that?”

“I don’t want to say I’m sorry because I think on a competitive level for me, if somebody was to say they’re sorry after beating me, it’s like, ‘No, I’m a competitor.’ I’m not a charity case.” Holm added, “I don’t want to say that I’m glad that she felt that way and I don’t want to say, ‘Oh I’m so sorry.’ It’s something I think that you have to dig through on your own. In the long run, she’ll be stronger mentally from it.”

Ronda Rousey: I’m Still “Really” F**king Sad” About Loss To Holly Holm

Ronda Rousey: I’m Still “Really” F**king Sad” About Loss To Holly Holm

holm-rousey match aftermath

Ronda Rousey is still pretty bummed about her tragic loss to Holly Holm last November 15. In fact, in an ambush street interview with ESPN (via People), she’s “really f**king sad” because she’s still pretty messed up from the beating.

You may remember that she was sent to the hospital right after the fight for surgery for her busted lip. And as of today, her teeth are still unstable from all the punches and nudges that Holm gave her straight to the mouth.

Ronda added, “It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact.”

Not to worry. UFC’s Dana White says Ronda will return to the octagon as soon as she’s healed and will definitely try to avenge her loss by rematching with Holm.

Ronda Rousey Knocked Out By Holly Holm In First Career Loss

Ronda Rousey Knocked Out By Holly Holm In First Career Loss

In the most shocking UFC news this week, Ronda Rousey seems to have met her true match in American Holly Holm, who knocked her out on Sunday’s match in Melbourne and took away her UFC bantamweight championship belt.

Their physical rivalry kicked off during the weigh-ins earlier this week, with them almost scrambling to fight after Holm held a fist against Rousey’s face during the photo op. And during their match at the Etihad Stadium, it came to a shocking end early in the second round when Holm used her infamous left kick knockout to wipe out the defending champion. It’s currently being described as the “greatest upset in UFC history.”

The “bummed out and depressed” Rousey suffered a split lip and was immediately transported to the hospital after the knock out—her first loss in her entire career. Holm, meanwhile, became the first ever fighter to claim both a world boxing and UFC title.

Holm says she welcomes the idea of a rematch. “I have been on the losing side of a fight and wanted to avenge my loss. So for a champion like Ronda, who has gone out of her way to do great things, absolutely, she deserves a rematch,” the 34-year-old champion says. “I don’t look at this fight and think I’ve made it. I think I’ve still got some things to do.”
