Atlanta Radio Jock Attacks ESPN Reporter Jessica Mendoza On Twitter

Atlanta Radio Jock Attacks ESPN Reporter Jessica Mendoza On Twitter

Many were surprised to hear a woman analyzing the Major League Baseball postseason game on Tuesday night between the Houston Astros and New York Yankees. Jessica Mendoza, who is a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist for Team USA herself, did a great job but many still disliked her just because she was doing what was commonly regarded as a man’s job.

One particular person who didn’t seem to dig the baseball broadcasting star was Atlanta radio jock, Mike Bell. He tweeted out (and later deleted) during Tuesday’s game (as preserved by Boiled Sports):

Some said Bell was simply joking, being the radio jock that he is, but many still agree that it wasn’t a good thing to say publicly.

What do you think about Bell’s comment?

Pacquiao: Mayweather Is “Afraid Of Losing”

Pacquiao: Mayweather Is “Afraid Of Losing”

With the much-awaited fight finally set and both parties are more than willing to beat each other out, the gloves have come off and Manny Pacquiao is finally doing a lot of competitive trash talking!

According to the Filipino boxing star, the reason why the undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. previously kept on turning down a fight was because the latter was not ready for his first ever loss. Quite optimistic for an underdog, wouldn’t you say?

“He is afraid of losing,” Pacquiao said while he laughed at Stephen A. Smith, a big Mayweather fan, during a video interview with him and Skip Bayless on ESPN’s “First Take.” And he wasn’t done. He added that he was even more worried about his previous fights with De La Hoya and Cotto.

Pacquiao also took jabs at Mayweather using his official Twitter page.

The legendary fighters are expected to meet in the ring on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ethan Westbrooks Reveals He Got Face Tattoo For Motivation To Get Into NFL

Ethan Westbrooks Reveals He Got Face Tattoo For Motivation To Get Into NFL

Michael Sam is not the only NFL player who made intriguing news this past week!

A fellow St. Louis Rams teammate is making news not because he beat Sam for one of the team’s final spots in the 53-man lineup, but also because of his remarkable life story before joining the football team. Apparently, he used to work for Toys “R” Us and play for Sacramento City College. He didn’t last at the toy store, however. The athlete was so sure about wanting to become different (like being part of the NFL, perhaps?) that he got himself a pretty outrageous motivational tool.

The man is rookie defense lineman Ethan Westbrooks, and he tells ESPN that he got a tattoo on his face underneath his left eye that reads, “Laugh now, cry later.” Three years later, he considers it a reason for his success.

He explains to ESPN: “I was just like I might as well go ahead and get it on the face because if nothing else, it will help motivate me to either be a guy that has a tattoo on his face looking for another job or hopefully I make it in the NFL and don’t have to work too hard to do something (else). I don’t feel it’s a bad thing now. I don’t regret it. It speaks for itself.”

Right before The Rams signed him as an undrafted free agent in May, he transferred to West Texas A&M. His emergence and undeniably incredible performance in the training camp were definitely major reasons for him finally being an official part of the team.

ESPN Apologizes To Michael Sam For Report About His Showering Habits

ESPN Apologizes To Michael Sam For Report About His Showering Habits

American footballer Michael Sam finally got the apology he deserved after ESPN went under fire for seemingly revealing shocking—although intriguing—locker room secrets.

The network’s Josina Anderson went on air on Tuesday and reported on her discussions with several of Sam’s St. Louis Rams teammates about Sam’s showering habits.

Anderson said, “Another Rams defensive player told me that ‘Sam is respecting our space’ and that, from his perspective, he seems to think that Michael Sam is kind of waiting to take a shower, as not to make his teammates feel uncomfortable.”

Rams star Chris Long and a few other people went after ESPN, and now the network has issued an apology, saying, “ESPN regrets the manner in which we presented our report. Clearly yesterday we collectively failed to meet the standards we have set in reporting on LGBT-related topics in sports.”

But the damage has been done, it seems. Since the report, shows like “The Daily Show” has been mocking and creating parodies of Sam’s alleged showering behavior.

Sam has not yet commented on the situation.

U.S. Hockey Player Hilary Knight Bares All for the ESPN Magazine

U.S. Hockey Player Hilary Knight Bares All for the ESPN Magazine

Showing off her ripped bod, U.S Women’s National Team’s Hilary Knight graces ESPN’s annual Body Issue with nothing but her birthday suit on.

Currently playing for the Boston Blades of the CWHL, Knight is known for scoring three goals and posting six points in five games for the U.S. last February during the Sochi Olympics—where the squad bagged its second straight silver medal.

In her ESPN interview, Knight says “I had this idea that muscular isn’t feminine. There is this image of athletic women as small and petite—the yoga body type. Women in general, we tend to shrink ourselves and not have as much confidence as we should in presenting ourselves and our body types.”

She adds, “It’s OK to be fit and healthy and comfortable within your body, whatever frame you have. Since gaining 15 pounds to be at the top of my sport, I’ve tried to shatter the body image that muscular isn’t feminine.”

Knight is the second female hockey player featured in the annual issue after Julie Chu, who posed last 2012.
